“ How could I forget about this place? A pork and bean, bean and cheese, and *drum roll pleaseee* their mushroom and garlic. The curtido portions got a bit smaller. Actually, I think the last time I came here years ago they always had their curtido out to self serve (probably pre covid). None the less, the foods smacks just as much as I remember. 5/5 ”
“ You know when you bite into something and it tastes so delicious your mouth tingles? That's what happens when you take a bite into a warm pupusa from Panchita's. They are just so tasty that I'm not even mad about the recent price increase. Additionally they're open till 2:30 am Friday and Saturday which is very convenient. Thank you for doing you Panchita's :) ”
“ The Mission District is known for the Mission Burrito, but pupusas are second most popular. Panchita's #2 Restaurant has done a good job of improving their food, the interior, and their menu, however I still only order the pupusas and plantains here. The interior is casual and they have picnic style tables, and murals that resemble a garden. This restaurant is vegetarian friendly, vegan friendly, and gluten-free friendly. A popular order is Combo #1: with 2 pupusas, beans, sour cream, plantains, and guacamole ($16.75). Additionally you can order a single pupusa ($4.75), or two pupusas ($9.50). Panchita's has some diverse vegetable-based flavors, including zucchini, basil/cheese, mushroom/garlic, jalapeño/cheese, beans/loroco, spinach, chipotle, soyrizo (only sometimes available), and vegan (which contains beans, rice, and plantains). I am still sad about the loss of the neighborhood restaurant El Zocalo years ago, it was open late and affordable. Thankfully Panchita's #2 is also open late. ”
“ ALWAYS hits. The best pupusas in SF. Vegetarian friendly! Vegan friendly! I get the Soyrizo (vegan chorizo iykyk) in mine and it's a 10/10. This place has saved me and my friends on many nights out! "Thank you, Panchita's!" *We all say in unison* ”
“ I would gladly come back to this restaurant! Heard many good reviews from friends and social media and I agree it's worth the visit. We tried a combo that came with two pupusas, beans, guac, sour cream and fried plantains. We tried their pork and mushroom/garlic flavors. The mushroom garlic was a hit! Never have I tried a vegetarian option but I loved it. The interior is beautiful inside, bright vibrant and busy. We ordered our food and it came out in less than 15 minutes. Towards the end they even had live music where a guitarist was walking around to sing/play. Already looking forward to my next trip back! ”
“ It was super hot this past weekend and I was dying of thirst. Luckily I stumbled upon Panchita's restaurant and they had a variety of drinks available. I was deciding between the tamarindo and the horchata and the server recommended the horchata. The person in front of me also requested a sample of one of the flavors and they were able to try it out. Loved the horchata and will come again!!! ”
“ I came here two nights in a row because it's just so good. It's always busy but is a testament to how popular it is. The decor and ambiance is so homey and lively. I got the Combo #1 with two revuelta pupusas, and it took about 10-15 minutes to get my order. There's water available to self-fill, and there is a bathroom in the back. The pupusas here never disappoint! The plantains are so gooey and golden and sweet. The pupusas themselves are so cheesy and fresh, and the combination with them, the salsa, the guacamole, and the sour cream is absolute heaven. The refried beans are perfect texture as well, and the slaw is so refreshing. This is a place to go for a meal that feels like home and a warm hug. They're also open super late and are always there when you need it after a long night. I love coming here so much, and will always recommend people come here even if they're just visiting. Absolutely must come try! ”
“ Food was really good very convenient. The customer service here is on point. I only had to wait like 5 to 8 minutes for the food. The ambience here is very nice it feels like I am in Central America and Salvador. They almost as well feels like an In-N-Out because the line goes through the middle of the restaurant. The only reason why I'm giving it a four star is because when I was sitting down eating with my girlfriend, I felt like there were flies. Other than that the food is really good and the people who work here are very very nice. We spent about $37 and we got really full. ”
“ The pupusa GOAT in SF. I've been a couple times at this point, all later weekend evenings between 12-1am after an evening out in the Mission. Currently also the best pupusas I've ever has too. Ordering is straightforward. Counter ordering where they give you a number and bring the food out to you. Big menu on the wall as well as small menus at the ordering counter. I recommend getting the combo 1, which includes two pupusas, beans, guac, fried plantains, cream, and slaw. Make one of your pupusas garlic and mushroom. Just trust me here. Make the second one a meat option. The pupusas are loaded, savory, and straight up hit the spot. They also have a breakfast which I'm thinking I'd love to try next. ”
“ I really liked: Pork Pupusa Beef Pupusa Chicken tamales I liked: Plantain empanada Beans & Guacamole Mushroom and Garlic Pupusa Insanely VALUE #goodeats, I am SO full off of a $16 plate. Whatever this red sauce is, it's incredible on everything here. I think my mushroom and garlic was a fluke, lots of people recommended it and mine was just kinda plain, especially compared to everything else. The restaurant is super cute. It's very apparent they put a ton of effort into making the place feel like we're no longer in SF and in a magical place where food isn't $20 dollars minimum Decently fast service, we didn't interact with them much since bussed our own plates. ”
